How can I increase the limitation to import a word document which is now set to 20Mb

I often need to import word documents into Confluence, but unfortunately most of my documents are bigger than the size limit of 20Mb.

How can this limit be increased ?

Yes, ask your confluence administrator to make changes in General settings and update the attachment size.
