How can I send an email to users that have JIRA accounts.

brandon williams August 13, 2025

I have been using for the recipients field in the [entry.POC] where POC pulls from a mutil list of JIRA users that have emails connected to their accounts. I have not been able to generate the emails and would like help determining where the email macro should belong or why the email is not being generated upon creation.

@brandon williams Since your tags say Confluence Data Center, I presume you are also using Jira Data Center. You posted this message under Confluence, though, so are you wanting to send the email from Confluence or Jira?

If Jira, this page (https://support.atlassian.com/jira/kb/send-an-email-notification-to-all-jira-data-center-users/) offers 3 possible solutions—the first 2 involve sending an email, while the 3rd is for an announcement banner within Jira.

Hi @brandon williams

Are you by chance using Comala Document Management's send email macro https://appfire.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CDML/pages/649924039/send-email+macro ?

I'll admit I haven't been using Confluence DC for a couple years now, and I can't quite visualize what you mean when talking about the entry.POC. Could you add a screenshot of what you're trying to configure?
