We put important files (certificates, etc) on Confluence pages for customers with user accounts to download. Once downloaded we then need to delete the files so we need a method of determining when the attached file has been downloaded. Is there any app/add-on which can show this?
There are a couple of apps designed for tracking views, but they cannot tell if a file was downloaded, viewed in line or previewed - those actions all look like downloads.
Is there anything at the tomcat or Apache levels that would indicate a download had been served?

If you are behind a proxy, you can enable logging of the urls hit and you'll see that preview and "open" are different.
