Hello,
I am new to creating variables in templates.
I want to know how to create the variables in any templates and use it in the filter of Jira Macro on my confluence space.
Please help me with an example if it is possible.
I am using Confluence version 7.4.0.
Thanks,
Sangmesh
Hi @Sangmesh ,
I can see my name among the tags, so I assume that you use our Table Filter and Charts for Confluence app for your instance.
As usual, we suggest wrapping your Jira Issues macro into the Table Filter macro and add this combination to your template.
The Jira Issues macro should return all the basic data, its query should be a general one (like "project = project_name".
Then you'll be able to predefine the required filters on the filtering panel (for example, by statuses, assignees, etc.).
So after the creation of the page from such template, your user will be able to modify the general JQL query (change the project name, for example) and publish the page with the predefined filters. Then it will be easy for him/her to put different variables into the filtering panel and display only the specific issues.
Or you may even set the required variables yourself while creating a template, so that your colleagues will get a whole predefined table view.
You may also look into our documentation - here are several use cases about using the Jira Issues macro together with the Table Filter and Charts for Confluence macros.
Or maybe you can clarify your question, so we can come up with a more precise solution.
