It seems impossible to easily manipulate numbers in a numbered list after importing from Word. Rather than retaining the numbering established in Word, Confluence renumbers most items at the same indent level, so that most of them re-start at 1. The only way to change them is to back the start of the 2nd item into the end of the first item and hit Enter, in order to make it behave as a continuation of the first item. Instead, we need a feature similar to Word's whereby a right-click gives you the option to "continue numbering", or "restart numbering" at any chosen point.
