I'm using Confluence to create a project wiki, but there is an absurd amount of white space between each line of text (leading to a lot of unnecessary scrolling). I can't find anywhere to change this spacing, nor can I find anywhere to change the font size.
Am I missing something? Or is this just a shortcoming of Confluence?
You are not missing anything. Confluence cloud delivers set font sizes that can only be adjusted by choosing one of those pre-defined sizes in the editor. There is a feature request here you can vote for https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-46077
By "pre-defined sizes," I take it you mean the Text Styles menu (Headers, etc.)?
The font size isn't a problem for me so much as the HUGE gaps between paragraphs. Lists take up a ridiculous amount of space on a page. I'll assume that can't be changed either and submit my own feature request. Thanks.

Serious answer first: if you have a number of lines (not paragraphs), you can use SHIFT-Enter to force a line-break without paragraphs. Also works within lists. Haven't seen a downside yet. (Also works in Word, btw.)
Sarcastic reply: Why do you think you know better for yourself what your needs are, rather than trusting a company that KNOWS what you need and therefore restricts the options you must not need?
I'd love to have an option to make a text big (for example a warning) - and I refuse to make a headline out of something that is not a headline, even if the only way to change the font size are the headlines.
