How do I create a folder for my pages?

I just want to organize things a bit, how do I create a folder?

Sorry if this is a stupid question; I searched online help and couldn't find "folder", and can't even find where I find out what my permission levels are, let alone how to create a simple folder.

Sorry, @Merve Nur Bas . This is such a stupid question, I'm sorry I know it must be, and I probably just need to know what access permissions to request so that the "create a folder" option button or menu item is available to me. I figured it would have a simple answer, though, so here are all the details.

My working file is in a folder on the left-hand side menu in Confluence. I just need to break my working file into multiple separate files under its current name and location.

So, here is the current structure, my file is the third from the top in the list, it is in the folder on the top line ("Vehi*"):

(There are higher-level folders to the left of what is in this screenshot, also.)

What I need to do is create a folder (at the lower level in this screenshot, where my current document is located) and then a bunch of new pages into which I can migrate parts of the existing content. The content will form a programming guide when it's all said and done. So, I want:

> (Book title)--This needs to be a folder at the same level as my current file in the hierarchy that contains the following files:

    * Title page file

    * Table of contents file

    * Chapter 1 file

    * Chapter 2... and so on.

Thanks in advance for your help, I realize that this is a REALLY stupid question, but I couldn't figure this out and couldn't find anything when I searched online help.

Confluence can be really irritating at first. So no question is stupid. 

So you want to have a page on the same level as your page (your "folder") beginning with T.... Just go to the page Vehi* and create a new page. It will automatically order it on the level below Vehi*, so on the same level as T... 

If you want to create a page under T... you just have to go to T... and create a new one when you are on T...

Confluence will sort in below that page. 

Just try it. If it gets sorted wrong you can always reorder pages by clicking on the three dots on the page and then click on page hierarcy. You can reorder them by drag and drop. 

Assuming by your name that you are from Germany or german speaking, I will try to explain it in german. If not just ignore the following lines :)

Confluence erstellt eine Seite immer unter der Seite, auf der du aktuell drauf bist. 

Sagen wir du hast folgende Struktur: 

A (oberste Seite)

- B (Unterseite 1)

- C (Unterseite 2)

Wenn du jetzt auf der Seite A bist und eine Seite erstellst, würdest du eine dritte Unterseite erstellen (bspw. D). Wenn du aber auf der Seite B bist und eine Seite erstellst, dann würdest du diese unter B anordnen (bspw. B.1). Für B.2 müsstest du zurück auf B und eine weitere erstellen. 

Ich hoffe das ist soweit verständlich. 

Wie oben bereits gesagt, du kannst über Seitenhierarchie per Drag & Drop die Anordnung und Tiefe der Seiten ändern (einfach über die drei Pünktchen oben rechts  Seite).

Hello @Merve Nur Bas , Vielen dank! Yep, it was a really stupid question and I think I was too used to the Windows model of creating the container and then putting objects into it.

Your answer is perfect: in both languages. LOL! Made my day. Let's stick to English, though, because my German is even worse.
