While working in Confluence, I have found the need to define individual words on the page. Sometimes I can re-write the sentence to use expandable text on the term. Often I cannot. Is there a way I can use expandable text or something to provide a definition?
Something like hover text would work well, where the user can hover over the highlighted word or phrase and see the definition.
Hi Jim!
You can use in-line comments for this part, just select a portion of text and it will give you the option to add a comment, once you save it, other users will be able to see the comment on the line by clicking on the highlighted words.
Hope this helps :)
Interesting idea. Can other users remove or resolve the comments? We use Confluence for all of our documentation and try to limit people who can edit. I know they wouldn't be able to edit the document itself, but could they do anything to the comments if they are restricted to view only?
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
If they have add comment permission on the space, they can do this actions, but if they do not have the add comment permission they will not be able to resolve the comment, and the comment can only be removed from the text once it has been resolve.
