How do I dynamically configure the values in a select in a soy template?

my soy blueprint wizard has a select. 

I want to query the pages that have a particular label in that space, and populate the select down with a list of those pages. I want to record the page id in the data of each option so in the actual blueprint it embeds a link to the selected page.

I'm sure it is something to do with rest apis and post-render, but, i'm getting really frustrated as I cannot figure out how to call the rest api properly, and I'm running out of time :(
