On the Atlassina marketing info for Confluence, there's an example of Jira issue links which looks like this: , but when I insert issue links they look like this: . How do I get the same effect they do, ie. to show the issue summary + icon for the issue type?

It sounds like your Application Link between Confluence and JIRA has not been configured correctly.

See if the steps listed here help: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Configuring+Application+Links

If they do not, raise a Support request and we can investigate.

Cheers,
Mark

Thanks, that was it, though it wasn't very obvious that the link wasn't correct. It would be helpful if some kind of error indicator was shown in the main application links view.
