How do I get the PDF exports to look good?

Mallory Ulrich October 2, 2025

I use Karma to create professional looking pages in our confluence. The issue I am running into is when I export these documents the screenshot are often cut off and the text breaking from page to page is really not great. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?

Hi @Mallory Ulrich

Philip from appanvil here, the vendor behind Karma. Using Confluence's default PDF export isn't great. This functionality is barely maintained by Atlassian and full of flaws. This is why we've built a separate PDF export for Karma Pro.
To access it, go to More Actions ("..." in the top right corner) -> Apps -> Export Karma PDF.

This will allow you to print or export the Karma macro to PDF in a way that's much closer to the original.

Best,

Philip

Thank you, this is looking much better. However it is still cutting off images in the page. Am I missing something?

Hi @Mallory Ulrich

Let's move this conversation to our service desk, so that you can upload a few screenshots or sample PDFs there, without having to share them publicly. This way we can analyze the situation.

Best,

Philip
