I do not want a user to be able to change their name, email address etc. I was able to limit this at one time by embedding a browser and just displaying the content panel but with all the new changes I have to show the entire page and this has become an issue.
I have to say, I am not all that fond of all the changes you have made over the last year.
Hi Eugene,
From your last paragraph it sounds like you are using Confluence Cloud, as the changes we have made to Server would only affect you when you choose to upgrade. In that case, we have a ticket open to add the functionality: Ability to Restrict Profile Editing If you vote or comment on it you will be added as a Watcher and will get emails when there is progress.
If you are using Confluence Server, this article should apply: How to disable profile editing by users.
We like customer feedback and are curious what else we did in the past year that you are not fond of, since your concerns are probably shared by others. If you have time to let us know which changes have caused issues for your team, we will appreciate it.
Thanks,
Ann
I checked the jira page and since only a few have voted for this since 2015 I'm assuming it will never see the light of day.
The changes to the user/login that you underwent last year I did not like. I understand them but they did not fit in with how I was using confluence cloud. The format of the page became unfriendly with the way we were displaying the panel (we were just showing the content panel not the whole web page) and we had to include the whole page in the browser window now... which is where the initial request for this topic came up since they then had access to the account maintenance buttons.

That is good feedback, I passed it on to the product team for Confluence Cloud.
In case it is feasible for your organization, I wanted to mention that users cannot edit their account details if you use G-Suite or Identity Manager to authenticate to Cloud.
