How does Confluence xml store the display order of the pages

Celine January 30, 2019

Hi,

I'm trying to convert several confluence pages into one file, and hoping to make it the same order as displayed in Confluence.

I'm only able to find the ancestors and children of a page. But can not find info on the displaying order of the children pages. For instance, one parent page has 5 subpages, from which property does it show the displaying order of the 5 subpages?

Thanks,
Celine

Hello Celine,

Thank you for providing information on what you’re trying to accomplish. I would like to have a bit of further understanding as to why you’re wanting to merge multiple Confluence pages into a single XML document while maintaining the parent level?

I ask because you may simply get these pages and their parent via the REST API endpoints made available. Ideally, you would GET the pages via the REST API. Once you have the pages you may then POST/PUT them back into Confluence under a different parent. Here are the endpoints you may use via the REST API:

If the REST API is not an option, do let us know what your desired outcome is when merging the Confluence pages. This will allow us to help you find exactly what you’re looking for.
