What drives the list that populates when you just press the @ sign in Confluence? I'm using version 5.10.2. When I press the "at" sign a list containing myself, and 3 other people shows up by default without me having to type anything.
These are not people that I frequently mention. None of these people even have access to the space that I'm in.
Hello, thanks for posting your question here with our Community!
Well, Confluence will populate the @mention list based on users you have previously mentioned. The users that show up there are based on this. There we have an excerpt from our documentation:
To mention someone using autocomplete, type '@' in the editor then start typing their name. Choose the person you want to mention from the list of suggestions.
Confluence will suggest people you've mentioned previously (after yourself, of course).
You can check the documentation here:

Hope this answers your question!
That's interesting. I wonder if it's different for Confluence version 5.10.2. My team that I mention on a regular basis have never shown up in that list. The people who are showing are people who I may have mentioned once or twice if ever. Which is why I was wondering about how the list is populated.
