Hey,
I want to share a Confluence page as a public link, so that the viewer doesn't have to create an account.
I enabled the public link toggle, so "Anyone on the internet with this link can view."
However, the page has an attachment which can't be accessed by the link since it's View only.
How can I change these permissions to allow external users to download attachments too?
Thank you in advance.
Hello Maria,
Hope you are doing well!
It is possible for users to click on an image or video in a page shared through Public Links, and not only view it but also download it by clicking on the download button, which usually is on the top right corner of the image, and bottom right for videos.
However, if the attachments are on a macro, like the attachments macros, I'm afraid it won't be possible for users to download those, as this macro is not visible on pages shared through public links and there are no permissions that can be changed to allow that.
The only macros that are visible currently for view-only are:
The view-only version of the page hides most Confluence macros. People that access the view-only version can only see the following macros:
I hope this helps clarify a little better how public links works, Maria.
Cheers,
Jessica
