How to create a central Index/Landing Page with content from all Spaces?

We have an increasing number of new users to Confluence who become frustrated and disoriented with all of the many Spaces within the Wiki.

How can we create a central Index/Table of Contents page that lists content from all of the available Spaces?

Are there any example sites of how others have created an initial Landing/Orientation page to help users navigate through all of the Spaces and more easily find specific content?

Hi Merrill,

We had faced similar issue earlier!!

We have done following:

Made a space where main page has Categorize spaces (eg: Training Material, Support Document, Product Documents). 

(so if anyone clicks on Training document it is landed to space where all training documents are present)

Later make this space as the default space from Admin Panel. 

Path to change site homepage: General Configuration->Further Configuration

You can also give sub-categories to main categories and likewise make it ease to navigate through spaces. (example: Training material space home page then have further product wise training materials space links like Product 1, Product 2)

Either version of RefinedWiki's add-on for Confluence could assist, but the choice is really determined by the version of Confluence you are using.

Alternatively, you could build something yourself. For example, see my add-on News for Confluence Cloud.

In terms of landing/orientation pages, there are plenty of user macros (and also other paid add-ons) to help you achieve this, but in part it depends on how you have structured your site and content.

Have you looked at the RefinedWiki Theme add-on for example?

Creating a master index of all content is slightly more difficult (and I would question if that would actually help people). The closest you would get with the out of the box macros is to create a page containing a Page Tree macro for each space.

However, the Reporting add-on might be a way to let you create a master index.

On the RefinedWiki Theme called RefinedTheme, I find out that is only supporting Confluence Server, and for the Confluence Cloud they have RefinedSpaces.

Can you say the difference and with which version we can achieve the goal @MerrillO DA-Admin is pursuing?
