How to define where in the page-tree a template should put pages?

paul enggruber February 7, 2018

Hello everybody,

Say I have a page structure like this

Plants

       Trees

       Flowers

Animals

       Birds

       Mammals

and each subpage has ist own template.

Is it possible to tell the SUBPAGE template, where to go in the page hierachy?

At the moment all new pages are on top Level.

So for example when I create a new page of type "Birds" (e.g. for an eagle), I want this new page to automatically be found in the Birds section and not next to Animals and plants on top layer.

Thank you very much

Best

Paul

Hi Paul,

Maybe the Page Tree Creator app could help with more automation. You can check it out under: PTC Examples (no registration is necessary)

Dear @paul enggruber,

a page is normally "linked in" as a child at the page you currently view while pressing the "Create" button.

Therefore I added the "create from template" macro at the future parent page. Of cause, if the user ignore the "create from template" button - the pages are added elsewhere.

So long

Thomas
