How to display images next to each other in a page?

When I add more than image, they are lined up vertically instead of horizontally. The images are stacked vertically and will not show next to each other.

I like @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- answer and I often use the page layouts for this.

Another option is to use a table placing your graphics in the cells.

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Confluence starts with a basic linear page, so your images are simply being listed one line at a time.  

But you can add "layout" sections, and layouts can have two or three columns.  If you put your images in these you can do things like

Line 1 - image1
Line 2 - some text
Line 3 - |image 2| image 3| image 4 |
line 4 - more text
line 5 - | image 5 | some more text |

Look for the two column button in the editor bar - looks like a standard "pause" button to me ;-)
