How to get markdown indexed by Confluence search?

So I'm using the markdown renderer plugins from Mohamicorp in our organization. But the content that is rendered from markdown does not get indexed in Confluence search. Even if I paste markdown into the simplest markdown rendering gadget on a simple Confluence page.

So the questions are:

• is this expected? The search feature of confluence won't work for imported markdown?
• If not - is this on the roadmap?
• What other alternatives would you use for importing markdown as confluence pages with search working?
