Good morning everyone.
our company uses Confluence on premise and its Scroll-Add-on ("Scroll Translations") to have the English and German language available. In order to publish documents for our customers, we make use of a Publishing Space. Thus, we edit in one space and publish in another.
In both spaces, German is the default language. When we "publish" a page for the first time via a workflow (mark-up) to the Publishing Space, the German title appears on the English confluence page. Hence, we assume that the default language always appears first as title when one published a page.
For our company, this generates a lot of overhead and manual corrections, since we always have to adjust the title on the English Confluence page first, rewrite it from German to English.
We really hope that the Atlassian community provide help with regards to this functionality. How can we ensure that the default language (German) is not displayed as the title on the English language when we publish a page?
We look forward to hearing from anyone who can help us out.
this is David from K15t, glad to hear you're using Scroll Translations!
Regarding the page title problem you're experiencing, this is definitely not something that's expected. Page titles in non-default languages get some special treatment in order to make sure they are always in the same language as the content, especially when published.
I am positive that this is a problem that can be solved and it would be very helpful to get some more details on how exactly you are publishing the content. I also think this is best handled by our product support, so if you'd provide those details here or in an email to support@k15t.com, this is going to be the quickest way to a solution.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Cheers,
David
Hi David,
thanks for reaching out so quickly, I wasn't expecting that! I have opened a ticket accordingly with K15t today in the morning.
That indeed gives me hope to hear that.
I will send an e-mail to your support mailbox and also refer to the support request I have opened with your company today.
Kind regards,
Kristin
