How to integrate SSO with ADFS for accessing the confluence cloud

Shahul Hameed July 9, 2020

Hi,

We have an on-prem AD extended it to Azure AD. My requirement is to configure our On-prem ADFS server to integrate with Confluence for enabling the users with Single Sign-On option to access the confluence cloud.

I read through some of the documentations and came to know, I need to subscribe for Atlassian Access to configure Single Sign-on with Atlassian cloud.

Is there a way, we can configure SSO without subscribing for "Atlassian Access"?

What are the other integration options available without SAML integration?

Configuring SSO either through on-prem AD or Azure AD, still needs "Atlassian Accesss" subscription?

Regards,

Shahul

If you need SAML SSO, and the enforcement of security controls (e.g. 2FA, password complexity) for users from your domain your only solution is via Atlassian Access.

No you can't configure SSO without Access. You will need Access for ADFS and/or AzureAD.

The only other thing you can use are the "social" logins - including via Microsoft/Azure that are available on the login page, however this is not real SSO, merely a convenience shortcut for the users to avoid typing the password.
