How to keep existing config when re-deploy in openshift

skh397 May 27, 2020

I am running latest official docker image Atlassians official image in openshift, and complete setup confluence license, DB connection, etc.

I got the setup screen again after manual deploy (nothing changes apply) in openshift. In the DB setup step, it gave an error that an installation already exists that would be overwritten if continued. Finally, I got the clean site and all the old setting is gone (E.g. Active Directory setting, Mail server setting, etc.).

Is it possible to keep the existing DB and setting in my case?

I don't really know OpenShift, but the main reason I can think is that you may have forgotten to mount a data volume at /var/atlassian/application-data/confluence, as per the instructions of the image. Without a volume/mount, you'll lose all of CONFLUENCE_HOME every time you tear down the container(s).
