By default Confluence searches through all content, pages, attachments, blogs, etc. The search result page allows the user to limit search results to for example Confluence pages only.
I'm looking for an option to change the default behavior of the Confluence search box. When the users searches through content the default behavior should be that the results are limited to pages (for example) only.
Using the search result page, the user can decide to widen the search to all content (or to pages and attachments).
It is important that it should be a system (or space) setting. A user should not have to take additional actions to apply limitations.
Hi Marco,
It's not currently possible to adjust the default behavior of Confluence Quick Search, but we do have a feature request for it:
This feature would allow you to specify the default search scope of the Quick Search in Confluence.
In the meantime, you could use the LiveSearch Macro in order to specify the scope of search.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Regards,
Shannon
