How to make the live inks in a page appear in the navigation tree in Confluence?

I am looking for some help with the page tree navigation in Confluence for files converted from Webworks. Here is the problem:

I am in the process of converting our online help from Webworks to Confluence wiki format.

Webworks generates child pages (not one for each chapter) and deploys it in Confluence. The order of the child pages does not corralate to the chapters/sections of the online help. The only solution I have now is to re-parent the Table of Contents link to a separate page to show the contents of the book.

But the left navigation (where I use a TOC macro) still shows the child pages in random order. Is there a way to show the TOC page in the left navigation? FYI, this TOC is not generated by Confluence, but but by Webworks.

In other words, can I have the links under a page appear in the left tree navigation? FYI, I am using Confluence 4.3.

Anyone else faced this situation when they converted from Webworks online help books to Confluence wiki format?

For that aspect, try to examine the construction of the page and see if the toc button generated by Webworks has a specific class or id associated with it. If so, you can then introduce a CSS rule (again in Space Admin) to hide it. This would work across all pages in your space, so a very effective fix.

Thanks, it is inside the HTML include macro--but I am not too familiar with CSS rules. Is there any other way?

The formatting page must be tweaked to remove these navigationon buttons in Webworks--that worked. Thanks CharlesH.

In the Space Admin screen you can click on a link to customise the theme navigation. You can write wiki markup here, so try using the {include} macro to refer to your preferred TOC page.

Thanks! CharlesH, it worked. I am now trying to figure out how to remove the [toc] button on top of every page that is generated by Webworks. If users click on [toc] on the top of the page, they will see a page with TOc on the right and left--awkward!
