How to prevent word and pdf exports adding question marks "?" around some macros

Hi!

I have a confluence page that pulls in excerpts from other pages. when I export this page to word or PDF, I've noticed that questions marks get added to dates (both inside and outside the excerpts) and on some page links.

How can I stop this from happening?

Welcome to Atlassian community.

As mentioned in Configuring Database Character Encoding, Confluence and your database must be configured to use the same character encoding. Issues with  exports could be caused by a mismatch.

If you have admin privileges on the instance, please try the encoding test from Troubleshooting Character Encodings:
