How to put code into confluence?

Before anyone raises concerns, I have tried {code} and code macro, neither works. {code} just add itself to the top of the code, and I have no idea how to keep indentation with code macro.

 

*Fixed* I found that I need to use {code} when editing the page, not in markdown.
