In the old editor, we could use the div macro to get a panel to right align some text. This is a way to get a table of contents running to the right of a page, for long pages, for instance. Another use is to float some text (like an info-panel) to the right.
Here is an example of the former, where you see a table of contents to the right on the start of this page (with a grey background), while the main content (first a table and then text) continues to wrap around it, first to the left and then it fills out below (pretty much standard and simple css applied to the div macro):
We have quite a few pages (using the old editor) that do this.
How can I accomplish this in the new editor?
Or do we just stick with the old editor until the new one is more feature complete?

I may be misunderstanding your question, but you can still create the table of contents on the right side using the Layout option on the new editor. It will create the boxes/anchors for the rest of the page content.
