Default sorting of templates in Confluence is by actual use; however, we would prefer to have the listings started with the customized templates and not the blueprints. How can this be done?
@Klaus Ziegler you can utilize the promote a template function, but that is on a Space level and will not affect your entire instance. Does this help you accomplish what you are looking to do?
Promote a template
Space admins can promote specific templates in the spaces they administer to make them easier to find. When you promote a page template, it will appear near the top of the list in the panel.
To promote a template:
Go to the space in Confluence Cloud.
Select Space Settings from the sidebar.
Select Templates from the Look and feel card.
Find the template in the table and select Promote.
Interesting that the community leader phrases that Promoting templates make them "easier to find" and that promoted templates will appear "near the top".
Basically, no user should need to actually search for the right template and if so the customised templates definitely should appear right at the top. Fullstop.
There is definitely room for improvement!
