How to test pdf stylesheet while developing?

kev Zettler January 31, 2014

Is there any way to preview the PDF Export Stylesheet as you are developing it? its a very cumbersome processes to make some updates, save. and then wait on the pdf export process. I also have a large pdf. Any ideas on how to make the workflow smoother would be appreciated.

Good question. Having some sort of PDF export preview would be nice. But I don't know anything like that. So I do exactly as you describe.

Some ideas what would work and what not:

  • If you only want to style some page elements like headers you could use the CSS macro, include it on your confluence page and directly preview the changes on the confluence page.
  • But if you use more PDF specific formats like @page you will have to export to PDF because these changes don't show on the html page at all.
