I have created a template in confluence navigation to this path is Space tools->Content tools->templates
I have added check boxes and some sample content in the template the below screenshot is before saving the template.
When I try to edit the same template lot of content is missing-Is this the by default functionality of Confluence or can I resolve this issue by doing any work around
Thanks in advance.
Can you please provide a screenshot from your Confluence? Please make sure to hide any personal info.
It seems to me that you are using Confluence Data Center. If it is the case usually an Admin create the template then assign it to your space.
The page should look different.
If you can provide little bit more details it will be very helpful

I know exactly what you are referring to. When you create a new page using your template you can see the features yo added to the template. When you try to edit the template itself to make adjustments to it you don't see the layout you created.
Is this the problem? If yes I faced it many times. Let me see if it can be addressed.
However please confirm that this is the behavior you are seeing.

Do you have admin access in Confluence?
Did you try to edit the template from the Admin Console? not from inside the Space
Let me know please

Hi @Tinker Fadoua ,
I have admin access to confluence and I have tried finding the user created template in the global templates.
I am trying to edit the templates inside the space because the templates are user templates
Also I cannot find these templates in the global templates in the general configuration
Please let me know what should I do now to resolve this issue? should I make the template as a global template?

From my experience as an Admin I always create the templates from Admin Console then make them either Space only or Global.
If you have admin rights to the space and are able to edit it not sure why you are unable to change the layout.
Please try creating the template from the admin console then assign it to the space. See if you will experience any problems.

Sometimes starting from scratch saves you time and unneeded headache than trying to troubleshoot.

Hi @Tinker Fadoua , But one of the confluence users is using the templates and they don't have admin rights.
They have raised this concern and I want to resolve this issue for them, so I have to solve the issue so that they can use the template.

@Tinker Fadoua yes the user want to edit the template as there are new changes that needs to be done on the template.
But the user is not able to find most of the content that was added to the template previously

@nalams it is an odd behavior.
Based on the following documentation user should be able to edit the template then make changes as needed.
