I can't make Rovo to "summarize" attached .docx or even .txt files in confluence

Hello,

I created a test page in confluence and attached a .txt plain text and also a .docx word document and Rovo can't read neither of them - Is Rovo able to "read" any type of document?

When I ask "Rovo do a summary of the documents attached" it responds: "The document is a metadata entry describing a Confluence page. It specifies that the type is "PAGE," provides the URL to the page, and notes that the page's title is "test." There is no additional content or substantive information in the document beyond this metadata."

Hi @Wladimir Walter Quiroz Galeas ,

Rovo default is to treat attachments as page meta-data, not full contents. So the generic prompts like "summarize the documents" will definitely miss the file guts. I believe this is a similar article like yours.

You can use the "Summarize Attachment Expert" Agent:

This pre-built Rovo Agent extracts and summarizes attachments on your page, which is perfect for .txt/.docx:

  1. Open your test page > Click the Rovo icon (top-right sidebar).
  2. Search/select "Summarize Attachment Expert" agent.
  3. Prompt: "Summarize the attached .txt and .docx files" (or specify names).
  4. It generates a summary you can insert/edit into the page. If this doesn't work for you, try filter Rovo Search by "Attachment" type first to confirm indexing.

I hope the links below are helpful for you:

All the best!

Hello Peter thanks,

This is the second time someone recommends this agent to me but, it is not a built in agent from Atlassian, it's a third pary plugin you have to install - This is not a viable solution and I'm quite surprised that Rovo can't read attached documents by default.
