I'd like to show 'todays date' on a page, how do I do this (without buying plugins)

I'm missing some very basic features in confluence cloud.
I'd like to add todays date to a page (so I have a date listed when I export a KPI report to pdf).

I read a bit in the forum, but this seems to be only possible, if
a) I buy some plugin, which I refuse to do for such basic functions.

b) Become a developer myself and create my own plugin.

I think in general Confluence cloud misses some very basic functions to create your own macro's and automation functions in a straightforward way...

Is there any straightforward way I can add 'todays date' to my confluence page? (not to a template, but a published page).

I found this feature suggestion:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-74864

I have been trying to solve this same issue. It would add value to my work, specifically adding Jira report filters. Those filters can easily handle dynamic dates, but trying to represent that in Confluence is not possible. As a non-admin user it is frustrating that all the "solutions" for this require admin-level access.

Hi @Danny Derks

Short answer is no. But you could do it manually though. It's about 4 clicks. I don't think that this "basic" feature you are asking would add additional value in Confluence. In my case and job it would be pretty useless. :/

But you could always add this feature as a suggestion, vote it, watch it and ask from other users to do the same.
