We are moving our current intranet site from Joomla (onprem server) to Confluence Cloud. As a result of many years of intranet page development, I have several pages that are pulling data in from databases and the data is being displayed using PHP pages.
I am testing several apps to achieve this functionality, but was wondering if anyone else out there has run into the same obstacle and what they did.
Hi Matthew,
Happy to help you with your migration to Confluence Cloud! It sounds like you have a dynamic page in Joomla currently, and you need to display this data in Confluence.
An idea might be to install an add-on from Marketplace that will allow you to display data from a database, much like you are doing in Joomla with PHP. There are a few add-ons that can help with this, and some examples can be found below:
Otherwise, importing data directly from Joomla would require you to convert the content to XML or a Word Document, and then import that into Confluence. You can see Import content into Confluence Cloud for more details on that.
I hope this helps, but let me know if you have any questions.
Take care,
Shannon

Thanks for your reply! I am working one getting one of the apps that is mentioned in your link to connect to one of our databases now. I have tried getting External Data for Confluence to connect with a database that we house internally, but am having some issues. I believe it has something to do with the security of the database.
Any suggestions on what to check would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Matthew,
I had a look at their documentation, but I wasn’t able to find anything specific about any system requirements in order to use the add-on.
I would recommend raising a ticket with the codefortynine support team. You can find their contact information on the Support tab of their Marketplace listing:
They’ll be able to have a look at your issue with you and determine why you might be having issues.
Take care,
Shannon
