I have tried running CLI commands within my Confluence environment and I am getting 'Connection Refused' errors. Is this a license issue? I thought if I have at least one of the plugins installed and licensed, I would be able to use the CLI in both my JIRA and Confluence environments.

No it is not a license error. You would get a license error, not a "Connection Refused". That error indicates a network problem getting to the service. The JIRA server must be able to access the Confluence server via the url you are providing - check that out from a browser running on the JIRA server.

Within JIRA, you should be able to run CLI actions against Confluence with no license on the target Confluence.

If you are still having problems, open a support request with us.

Bob,

I have resolved the connection issue. I am now seeing a license issue.

We have the following plugins installed in JIRA:

Bob Swift Atlassian Add-ons - Run CLI Actions in JIRA

Bob Swift Atlassian Add-ons - JIRA CLI Connector

I have no issues running CLI commands against my JIRA instance. When I attempt to run a CLI command against my Confluence server, it looks on the Confluence server for a license and I get the following error:

*Client error: CLI connector is not installed or enabled on the server*

I thought I only needed the CLI Connector on my JIRA server (one license covering both JIRA and Confluence). Do I also have to purchase a CLI Connector for Confluence?

Yes, they are separate. To use a Confluence client you need to have the Confluence connector installed and licensed.

Within JIRA, you should be able to run CLI actions against Confluence with no license on the target Confluence.

This means Confluence CLI actions used within JIRA (post functions or runner) can talk to a Confluence that does not have the connector.
