I want to maintain same table size across the page irrespective of the content in it.
so that my page doesnt have tables with different widths. Is it possible ?
You can use the HTML Table/Row/Cell macros.
Or a user macro:
Just so you know, Atlassian is already working on a solution that will be available in Confluence 6.0:
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-3393
There is also a Javascript-based workaround in the comments, but the Advanced Tables plugin is the most user-friendly way.

Hi,
You can use a plugin like this Bob Swift Advanced Tables plugin. You can set table width and columns widths in pixels so it will always be the same size. You would just need to wrap all the table within this macro and they should all be the same then.
