ISSUE with Confluence 'Insert Jira issue' macro

Gunther Chrobok-Diening July 3, 2025

There is an ISSUE with Jira custom field of type 'Text Field (multi-line)' using 'Wiki Style Renderer' when displayed by Confluence with 'Insert Jira issue' macro.

Application linked instances:
Jira DC 8.5.5
Confluence DC 9.12.4

@JIRA, there are issues with custom filed (CF) of type 'Text Field (multi-line)' using 'Wiki Style Renderer'

@Confluence, there is a page with a 'Insert Jira Issue/Filter'

OBSERVATION

*Confluence' 'Insert Jira issue' macro displays text erroneously*

@JIRA CF contains

-->"
Reference:
[1] Author: Title.
[2] Author2: Title2.
"<--

@Confluence page with macro displays

-->"

Reference:
[1] Author: Title.
[2] Author2: Title2.

"<--

Trials to get rid of issue include:

 • Creating another custom field from scratch
 • Re-indexing
 • Creating application link from scratch

Any suggestions how to overcome this here?

Hi @Gunther Chrobok-Diening

This is fixed from versions, but it seems not for 8.5.5, see comment on CONFSERVER-94113

So you might need to upgrade your Confluence to 8.5.6, as this seems that it will not be fixed for version 8.5.5
