Image Add-Ons - Interactive Tool Tips

I am looking to be able to upload images of our software and have interactive tooltips or pop-outs on specific areas of the visual.  For instance, an icon over a button in the image will enable users to get more details about that functionality. 

Are there any creative solutions for a challenge like this or Add Ons we should consider?

There is not a way to do this in the delivered app. (iframes maybe)  Here is an app in the marketplace I found doing a quick search https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/253/scroll-imagemap-for-confluence?hosting=cloud&tab=overview   It looks like this one would meet your needs.
