Image sizing in confluence tables

Atlassian Team members are employees working across the company in a wide variety of roles.
Just looking for some advice on how images are sized in confluence – things jump around all over the place!
Example. Sometimes they appear like this:
And sometimes like this:
Is this just due to the editing vs published state? I think it might be that simple, just feels odd as it seems to jump around in the editing state and not reflect the actual (wysiwyg) state while editing.
