I am taking over a project from an external organization, so they exported their confluence space and sent me the files.
I imported using the admin 'Import Space' steps and it says it was successful, but I can't see the space. I'm the site/organization owner so I don't think it's a permissions issue unless the export carried over permission constraints (I was not a member of the source organization at all). Anyone know how to debug this or fix this? Thanks
Hey there @Joseph Harmon ,
It takes a while for a new Space's contents to be indexed and fully available in the UI. Also, larger Spaces will take longer to be fully indexed.
If it's been over a couple, hours, then you should check if the Space already exists under Space Permissions as suggested by @Aaron Pavez _ServiceRocket_ .
PS: there's no need for the Space to be re-exported as Recover Space Permissions is a post-import step.
Hi @Thiago P _Atlassian Support_ Thanks for the reply and clarification!
I tried the import yesterday (nearly 24 hours ago) and still don't see that space. I tried again today to import a different space (different space key/id) and don't see the 2nd one either.
I'm looking at this page right now and all I see are personal space for myself and 2 other teammates I invited: https://<my-organization>.atlassian.net/wiki/admin/space-manager
...is that the correct page to be looking at? I also checked for archived/trashed spaces and there's nothing there.

@Thiago P _Atlassian Support_ I don't know if it helps, but if I look at my Audit Logs, I can see that 2 imports started (one yesterday, one today) with 2 different space keys, of course. I don't see any follow-up logs that show the operation completed. Is there any other way to check progress?

Unless those Spaces are huge in size, the process should not take that long to finish.
The URL you should be checking is:
https://<your-domain>.atlassian.net/wiki/admin/permissions/space-permissions/allspaces
Notice you need to search by Space Key.
If you're not able to find those Spaces, please open a Support ticket and our Team will be able to check the status of the import process.

Ah, I do see them listed on that page, along with links to "recover admin permission." I will follow that link and hope it works out, thanks for the help!
(They are both quite large, btw)

When you export a space, you need to make sure you recover the permission:
Gear icon -> settings -> space permissions -> click recover next to the space.
If that doesn't work, add yourself to the space permissions.

Hi @Aaron Pavez _ServiceRocket_
Thanks for the reply. The 'recover' step is something you do before you export, from inside the source organization? I don't have access to that, would I have to ask the other company to export it again?

After.
It could be a permission issue. Try adding yourself to it.
If you are using premium, you can use an admin key to bypass permissions:

Thanks. I am on a Premium trial at the moment.
I don't see a way to utilize the admin key, because I can't navigate to any pages in order to use that prompt. My account appears empty, aside from a couple template pages that Confluence stubs out in the beginning. Please correct me if I've misunderstood :) thanks
