In Confluence, can I copy one Wiki to serve as the base for a new Wiki?

Ron Boeth May 10, 2018

We have developed a Wiki using Confluence for an internally developed application.  We are doing a major reversion of the application.  Our goal would be to copy the old Wiki contents into a new Wiki and then update the contents as required.  Both the old version and the new version need to be available for the user community.  How can I accomplish this?

The question for me is do you want to run two Confluence systems or just one?

If it's two, then you can export the old space(s) and import them on the new one, and then start working on editing the new one.

If it's only one, then it might be a bit more painful.  You can still export each space you want to copy, but then you would want to edit the xml to change the space key and re-import it as though it's a new space.  Or, on more recent versions, you could copy (including all child pages) top level pages from one space to a new one.  Or you could use one of the Apps that enables "space copy"
