I have two confluence instances of version 6.6.2 (named as A) and 6.3.4 (named as B) in same network. I have created Application link between A and B. I have enabled html-include macro in A and tried inserting url of a confluence page from B. But when I save the page, I dont get the page displayed as expected. It gives blank or login page is displayed.
Even after entering usr/pwd nothing is displayed.
I want only the main body of the confluence B to be included in Confluence A page. We don't want the top bar and the left side bar.
What is causing this behavior? Is there any plugin which can allow embed confluence pages of two instances or everything is blocked by clickjacking even between two confluence instances in same network/domain. ( https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/confluence-page-does-not-display-in-an-iframe-827335781.html ) ?
Did you try the workarounds listed on the page you linked to?
I seriously doubt anyone has made such a plugin, and of course, not sure Atlassian would sanction such a plugin as it might be viewed as a way around paying for more licenses.
The other solution might be to use a REST call to the page to bring over the content and re display it. This option would require development work on your part.
Question: Why do you have two instances on the same network? Why can't they be combined?
