I have a trial Confluence space set sup, but I don't see where I can add Connector or Companion. External editing is extremely important to us, and we need to scope out how it works.
There are many connector available for confluence , I am not sure which one you are referring to but you should find all apps in the market place and should be able to install from there. Example:
