Hi,
I need to replace a picture in a confluence page.
The "new" picture I need to use was at some point already uploaded to this page and therefore is present and versioned in the attachments page.
So I'd like to add again this "versioned picture" into my confluence page, from its attachments page without having to import it again and create a new attachement with a new name which would break the file versioning.
Couple of years ago when I used Confluence server, I could select attached picture by adding "!" and selecting the picture.
Checking in Display files and images | Confluence Cloud | Atlassian Support tells me that
If you delete an image from a page, you will need to upload it again to add it back. You cannot add an image from the Attachments view in the new editor.
=> Is there a way to maintain my attachements versioning or do I really have to upload image again (which would create a new version) ?

Kind Regards
Raphael
We just realised the same thing. Downloading the version from the attachements and then adding it to the page seems to be the only workaround. As you said, that creates a new version.
We have an AddOn that lets us edit the source code of the page, so we could insert new pictures referencing an attachement that way, but that is also really impractial.
I'm gonna look for existing feature suggestions or add one and post the link here.

(@Raphael Ansermet @tobias_wolf @Rebekka Heilmann _viadee_ take a look at our new app Attachment Manager by Easy Apps. You all seem to be struggling with managing attachments with the build in tools available.
It's suite of tools to bulk manage attachments.
search by page(s)
list of all attachments by pages or a space
filter by attachment version
filter by if visible on a page
bulk download, delete, move

Recently we began to migrate from Confluence DC to Confluence Cloud.
Migrated Pages will still use the Legacy editor and with this Editor you will still have the functionality to use an existent Attachment in your Page. But once you migrate the Page to the brand new and shiny Editor you will loose this feature.
Since we are in an Migration Track from DC to Cloud, we have a direct Atlassian contact and as i mentioned this feedback that this will be available again soon, was rather low :(
