Situation:
In my organization People are requesting very advanced Jira customizations to support ticketing
Complication
1) Affects system performance
2) Puts a huge support burden on the Atlassian team
Resolution:Do a simple ticketing system in Jira and hook up the issues with a templated confluence page
I think it can be done trough REST API CALL
for more details: When we create a jira issue (when we hit the create option it should be redirect to confluence page)that page have one form with filed of custom fields or a table with fields name and when you will get the customized fields form then you will fill that page in confluence and save it, it will redirect to jira again) Is it possible???
I think this would be possible (but not trivial) with scriptrunner for jira and scriptrunner for Confluence. Or by creating your own little plug in.
But there is a lot of hidden complexity in this idea. Such extensive scripting solutions always produce a lot of maintenance cost and make your system harder to update.
I don't know your business case but maybe it would be better to negotiate with your requesters to find a better process.
Try to get to the why of the requests and maybe then you can come up together with a simpler solution.
With kind regards
Mario
