Is it possible for an admin to have restricted access to billing and other spaces?

Jade Naylor May 29, 2019

I am currently working with contractors whom I require to be able to modify and configure user access in one confluence space. I would like them to have the ability of adding, configuring and modifying both individual user access and groups for one space. I currently have the contractors setup as trusted users however, their access is limited to just inviting users with no ability to add users to groups.

I understand that this could be resolved by upgraded their access to site admin however, I need to protect our other spaces (projects) and also our billing information. Is there a work around for doing such a thing?

Thanks in advance

Hello Jade,

Thank you for contacting us.

Unfortunately your first request for the Space Admin to be able to add users to groups is not possible. Groups are a site-level change, and is unrelated to your spaces. Therefore this is the reason why the Site Admin needs to do it.

On the other hand, modifying permissions for a space can be done by the Space Admin. Once the Site Admin has added the users to the Confluence instance and to their appropriate groups, then the Space Admin can use this information to give them access to a specific space.

For more details see below:

I hope that clarifies things, but do let me know if you have any questions about this or need further clarification.

Regards,

Shannon
