We are currently using Confluence to document our meetings, both to build the agenda prior to the meeting, but also to document our discussions.
We have created a template for the meeting documentation.
We sometimes (!! :) ) run out of time, hence some of the discussion points should be moved to the next meeting.
So, let's say that we have a table with 10 items up for discussion. 7 of them we managed to complete while 3 must be moved to the next session.
Is it possible for us to include these 3 remaining items during the "create new page from template"-process, so that they are copied from the old page and included in the new one, but all edits are stored on the new page only?
I have looked into the excerpt-macros, but as far as I can see, these will only include content from a "master source page", and not give me the "copy content and edit locally, disconnect from sourcepage" function that we are after.
Is my only way to create the page and then copy manually?
Is there a different way of dealing with meeting agenda/notes completely?
Hi @Ivar
I'm not aware, of any confluence build in functionality that would stop you from having to copy the content manually over.
But my companies app Orderly Databases could potentially solve this need for you. Orderly enables you to create databases to structure content on pages i.e your discussion points.
By referencing a database on a template and filtering the database entries (in you case the discussion points) to only show the ones that are still 'open', you are able to create an always up to date meeting notes template.
In case you need more help to set up this use case with Orderly, let me know or setup a demo right away.
Cheers,
Robert
Thank you for replying, Robert!
If you are right, i.e. there is no such thing, we might as well start storing our items in Jira, and use the Jira-macros to manage this instead. Not what we are looking for, but something we already have in place in our shop.
