Is it possible to have more granular versioning of files uploaded with atlassian companion.

When editing a file and then uploading it via companion or manually versioning is 1, 2, 3 and so on.

Is it possible to have a more granular versioning for files edited for example the first version of the document uploaded is V 1.0. and subsequent minor updates can be V 1.1 , 1.2 where as major updates would change the the file version to V 2.0, 3.0.
