If this is possible, then also how to read on which environment (defined somewhere) confluence is installed.
for eg - dev or int or uat etc.

Could you please clarify for me exactly what you are trying to do? Are you trying to create a duplicate environment of your Confluence site, such as with a staging instance?
If you need to create a staging instance, you can do so following the instructions here: Create a Staging Environment for Upgrading Confluence.
If that is not what you need, could you please be more specific and confirm what it is you need?
