Is it possible to pass a search term into a macro in confluence?

Hi all,

For reasons I have no control over, some of our staff can access both confluence and Jira, and some Confluence only.

As such, it is easy for us to just put a Jira Qeuery in Confluence and display pre-set information.

However, is it possible to have a search box in confluence where the search term is passed into a confluence jira query macro and it then performs the search based on that query?
