When we associate JIRA project with Confluence page for tracking of Issues which includes Key, Summary, IssueType, Assignee, Status & Latest Comment etc. So the requirement here is that if the user comments on a JIRA issue in the comment section then it is dynamically getting updated on Confluence page but within HTML tags. Currently the comments are coming within <p> tags with date and time.
So is it possible to remove those tags and present the comment in Plain Text ?
Tanu,
Is this something you already have set up on your instance and it's not working properly, or are you asking us how to have Jira comments update on the Confluence pages?
Is this an add-on you're using, or a user macro, or are you developing your own add-on?
If you can help us to understand exactly what you've done so far, it will help us to help you.
Regards,
Shannon
Currently, 1 Grip-JIRA project is already linked with Confluence page (existing) and whenever there is an addition of comment on an issue which is created under that project then that comment is getting reflected on the confluence page for the ease of tracking but the comments are getting reflected within the HTML tags ex. <p> which I think is an inbuilt functionality. So my query is that is it possible to remove those tags somehow by using macros or something?

Tanu,
I can confirm this is not a built-in functionality of Confluence and Jira.
There must be some script or add-on you're using to do this. Have you spoken with your administrators of the instance?
Are you able to show me any screenshots of the behavior? Maybe we can narrow down what is providing the functionality so we know how to fix it.

Shannon

Hello Shannon,
I am attaching one screenshot, this is how it looks on Confluence. So my requirement is to remove html tags from the comment section, which is getting reflected whenever there is a comment on JIRA instance under that issue. So here I have hidden the comments.

Tanu,
Thank you for sharing that. It appears that there's some sort of add-on you're using in Jira to display this information, and then porting that over to the Confluence side.
Are you on Cloud? If so, I would recommend reaching out to the Cloud Team. They can have a look at your instance if you raise a ticket and then they could tell you which add-on they think it is.
There's not much we could do to help you remove the HTML from the comment, but they'd at least be able to help you track down which add-on is doing this.
If you're not on Cloud, and you're on Server, you'll need to speak with your server admin and they can help you figure it out.
Regards,
Shannon
